Default buying a new laptop, suggestion anyone?

    hi
im gonna buy a new laptop soon in few weeks time. i did many search onlline, read reviews and im a bit confused which one to buy.
    my requirement:

budget: £900 max, i want atleast i7 processor, 8gb ram, 640gb or more hdd, a good graphic card with 1gb or more. also something that dont make too much fan noises+ dont get too hot when playing games.

i found a toshiba which cost about £900

    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...ld_old/true/#0

is this good? can i find a same spec with lower price? or better spec in same price? or is it better to get a custom build?

    thanks

    hi mate
and welcome to the MD forums.... for just over £900 the "MSI GE620DX-691UK 15.6 2670QM 8GB W7HP"( http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Pr...=brianthesnail ) is a impressive notebook thats basically a desktop replacement.... its aimed at gamers and has a Intel Core i7 2670QM and a impressive GTX635M with 2gb of ram.... theres very little information on the GTX635M however what i have discovered indicates it has a 753mhz core clock and 2gb of gddr5 memory.... theres a 192bit memory interface and 144 cuda cores/shader processors
this is more than enough to cope with the latest games and the with the 15.6 full HD screen supporting 1920x1080 resolution they should run and look pretty good.......
in my opinion MSI gaming laptops are far superior to toshiba and the cooling set up on this laptop is better aswell....... however running this premium mobile hardware i allways recommend a laptop cooler for additional cooling...... and since the number one cause of laptop breakdowns are cooling problems this is a essential purchase

theres plenty of core i3 based laptops avalible and to be honest this would be more than enough... however the biggest saving by manufactuers are made by using a inferior graphics chip... the intel HD or gma graphics solutions are the most common graphics adapter found in sub £500 laptops .....
the toshiba laptop you linked looks good however the GT540 cant touch the GTX635M allthough the 8gb of ddr3 ram is impressive however the screen is limited to just 1366x768 ....
so i would go with the MSI GE620DX-691UK 15.6 2670QM 8GB W7HP i recommended .... it has a good core i7 mobile cpu... one of the better nvidia mobile gpu,s and most importantly a full HD screen with a 1920x1080 native resolution....
    hope this helps

i have heard many complaints regarding the quality and functions of Toshiba with such high processors in it... i would better say you to look up for the ranges of Lenovo Laptops....../
